When I received the press release for Peter Bisuito's Talk Show, Naked Guy Crocheting, I knew I just had to get an interview with him because to me, this is truly a "Different Kind of Interview."

I am thrilled that Peter wanted to chat with me because what I discovered underneath Peter's crocheting was a lot of heart & a humanness you might not consider if you just saw the title Naked Guy Crocheting.

Peter comes to his talk show with grit, integrity & a mission to help others.

Naked Guy Crocheting began as a stupid and ridiculous idea Peter Bisuito had during the pandemic as a quirky YouTube web series, produced and videotaped in the spare bedroom of his Fort Lauderdale home with a couple iPhones and green screen background—just a fun way to pass the time and bring a little laughter to people stuck at home.

What started as a lighthearted pandemic project quickly struck a chord, gaining a devoted audience and turning into an unexpected hit with a fun twist on the Late Night Talk Show format.

Riding that wave of the show's growing popularity, host Peter Bisuito decided to go big time: transforming Naked Guy Crocheting into a full-scale talk show and internet sensation, filmed at a TV studio with professional film crew and a LIVE studio audience.

But Naked Guy Crocheting is about much more than just skin (Peter is never fully in the buff, it’s just a silly gimmick). The word “naked” is a metaphor for the show’s spirit: every episode invites guests (and the audience) to reveal their authentic selves, share their stories and expose their own “naked truth.”

Due to Peter's passion for dogs, each episode blends stand-up comedy, celebrity guests, audience participation, musical guests and a heartfelt commitment to supporting dog rescue charities. Naked Guy Crocheting also brings together the LGBTQ+ community and allies for a show that’s authentic, hilarious, and driven by purpose giving the community a strong positive voice now when we need it most. 1. How did you come up with the idea of your talk show, Naked Guy Crocheting? Wow, long story. I was crocheting naked on my recliner in the summer of 2020 during the shutdown. I was so bored. I asked myself what I could possibly do to not only pass the time but entertain people.

So I thought, “hmmm, how bout me crocheting naked while people call in and ask me questions.” Like a talk show meets Dear Abby. I named the show Ask a Naked Guy Crocheting.

So I asked my best friend to be my sidekick and we filmed one episode in the spare bedroom of my home. I painted the wall green and used it for a green screen for added production value. That video received over 12,000 views within 3 weeks. So we continued to make episodes.

Each episode was to raise money for Dog Rescue, my favorite charity. A year later we tried performing the show at a small bar in Wilton Manors in front of an actual live studio audience. But we turned it into a more interactive event with Q&A and trivia. It was standing room only.

So we performed 12 more times within 8 months and the room was packed every time. THEN we put the show on hiatus because I wrote and directed a short film that consumed my life for 8 months. (I Remember, now streaming on Amazon, Google TV and Apple TV) THEN in January 2025 I decided to resurrect the show and go BIG TIME.

We transformed a high end night club into a TV studio. We build a set. I hired a professional film crew with 6 cameras all over the room, we sold tickets, and our first guest was Del Shores. The show sold out. There were 140 people in the studio audience and I just knew from that moment I had something special on my hands.

2. You are Fort Lauderdale's ONLY Live Entertainment Talk Show. What made you want to start a live talk show? I’ve always had a fun, outgoing personality so a talk show host just makes sense. Plus I love to entertain, I love to produce video, I love talking to people and I love crocheting.

So it all kinda fits. And I wanted to use this show to raise money for my favorite charity…dog rescue. I have future dreams to start my own dog sanctuary.

3. What do you like about filming before a live studio audience as opposed to pre-recording your show? Truthfully, I’m not much of a TV person. I have very little experience performing on TV.

Live theatre is actually my background. I started in musical theatre when I was 19 so theatre is my roots. I’m used to the instant gratification of the audience. They are my security blanket.

4. Your first guest on Naked Guy Crocheting was acclaimed Playwright & Filmmaker Del Shores. Your next guest is Drag Icon Lady Bunny. How do you decide who you want to have as a guest on your show? I want a real mix of guests from every walk of life. Gay, straight, male, female, rich, poor. I just want interesting people I feel would be of interest to a global audience.

I want my guests to be fun and hilarious, but also serious and sincere. Doesn’t necessarily need to be a celebrity. Perhaps somebody who’s done something extraordinary in their life that would be uplifting and inspiring to the world.

5. Who is your #1 Dream Guest you'd like to have on your show? Bugs Bunny

6. What is the most surprising thing to happen, thus far, during your debut show that you didn't expect? My mother died 6 days before the taping of the pilot episode. My mom and I were very close. She was a huge fan of mine. She loved the gay community and they loved her right back.

I obviously didn’t expect to perform the show whilst grieving for my mom. I did tell the audience during the taping. I cried. They cried. Del Shores cried. He opened up and told some endearing stories about his mother.

I know it sounds kinda funny but quite frankly, the show turned out even better due to her passing because it brought out the “Naked Truth” in all of us.

7. What did you learn from your first show that you feel will help you with your next show? The Q&A section of the show went on way too long. I plan on cutting it to 10 minutes instead of 20 minutes.

8. While you are never fully naked on the show, press notes state it is a metaphor for your guests & audiences to speak freely & share their own naked truth. What is one truth you would like to share with me today? I miss my mom. I miss my grandmother. I miss my sister. I miss my dog and I love my husband.

9. How do you feel Naked Guy Crocheting will help us in the troubling times we are living in? I want to be a positive light in people's lives. I want to be up-lifting. I want to motivate. And I want to accomplish this by just being myself. I want the ability to be a normal person during every show without putting on a front all the time.

If I’m happy one episode I want to be happy. If I’m having a bad day in another episode, I want to be pissy. If something bad happens in my life, I want to be bitter. If somebody dies again before the show, I want to be sad.

These are all normal human relatable feelings. I want people to know it’s ok to feel all these things by setting the example.

10. What is your favorite thing to crochet while recording the show? LOL. I don’t crochet anything while recording the show. It's just a large rectangular piece, large enough to cover my wee wee.

11. How will you use your platform to support your favorite charities like dog rescue & LGBTQIA+ initiatives? I have no idea. I’ll be learning as I go. Which is why it’s SO important that the community not only watch the show, but share it, engage with it, talk about it and follow it.

With large numbers comes great power. My goal is millions of viewers all over the world. With that many people we could really make a difference in the LGBTQ+ community and for dog rescue.

12. What is something we didn't get to talk about in this interview that you'd like my audience to know about you? Oprah Winfrey agrees that I would make a great talk show host. She told me. Well sort of…In 2010 Oprah was having a contest. She was looking for America’s Next Talk Show Host. The winner got their own talk show on her new network “OWN.”

I entered by submitting an audition video of myself and made the top 20. The Oprah producers interviewed me by phone, but I did not make the top 10. However, they used 3 clips of my audition video in a montage that aired on her show December 30th 2010. So technically I was “Seen on Oprah.”
