What a fun time Angelo & I had at the opening night performance of Daniel Levin's Spandex The Musical at The Asylum NYC!

Spandex The Musical is a relatable show about faded dreams, defining yourself by a single moment & trying to find your way back to who you always wanted to be.

The BEST part of the show was definitely seeing Pop Icon & 80s Teen Sensation Tiffany in her NYC theatrical debut.

You can tell just how much fun Tiffany is having in the show & how perfectly cast she is in the role of Linda.

If you haven't heard Tiffany sing since the 1980s, then you have been missing out on hearing one of the most powerful voices in music, and now musical theatre.

The songs Tiffany sings during the show are so well matched for her powerhouse vocals that it almost feels like Tiffany wrote & recorded them herself, but they were written by Co-lyricists Daniel Levin & Julian Blackmore.

Sims Lamason is remarkable as Lorraine, especially when she has to sing alongside Tiffany. Anyone who can match Tiffany's harmonies is well worth watching! These two actresses truly raise the roof!

And when Tonyia Myrie Rue gets her solo moment in Act II, you just want more!

The rest of the cast is comprised of one talented actor after another, making this an enjoyable night at the theatre!

Another one of my favorite parts to the show was all the 80s references & Tiffany easter eggs sprinkled throughout the show. If you don't pay attention to the dialogue & action on stage, you can easily miss them.

As the show continues to evolve with future productions, my only feedback would be to shorten the length of the show by cutting out some of the subplots that I didn't feel moved the story along.

If you love the 80s & want to get away from the current state of affairs, Spandex The Musical is the perfect show to forget your troubles & be inspired to keep stretching for your dreams!

With only 1 week left, you better put the peddle to the metal if you want to see this show.
