2025 BONUS UPDATE:
Here is an additional Behind-The-Curtain Story for you...
The above photo is not from when I got to interview Cheyenne Jackson in 2013.
It's actually from 2005 when I saw Cheyenne star on Broadway in his first leading role in a musical.
The show was All Shook Up, which told a story about a leather-clad, guitar-strumming roustabout who helps awaken a sleepy unnamed American town, using the song catalog of Elvis Presley.
Like so many others, I was waiting at the Stage Door to say Hi to Cheyenne, who knew me because we had met while he was starring in Thoroughly Modern Millie on Broadway, and in a workshop run of the Off-Broadway musical Altar Boyz. Plus, I used to work in the apartment building Cheyenne used to live in.
When Cheyenne saw me at the stage door, I will never forget him telling me, "You look great!"
That comment meant the world to me for a few reasons.
First of all, I have always found Cheyenne to be a very attractive man, so to have someone of his caliber recognize me in that way made me feel very special.
Secondly, at that time in my life, I had started using Susan Lucci's Youthful Essence Exfoliator, which always provided a certain glow to my face, just like the infomercial said it would.
This is a moment that has been embedded in my mind forever and I'm thrilled it was captured forever through this picture!
