Behind-The-Curtain
Stories from the other side of the microphone:
Jason Opsahl
Broadway Actor, Grease, The Full Monty
What happened when I bumped into Broadway Actor Jason Opsahl in Times Square after I had met him at The Rosie O'Donnell Show & saw him in the Tony Nominated Musical The Full Monty on Broadway?
FULL Behind-The-Curtain Story, from the other side of the microphone, above!

2025 BONUS UPDATE:
Here is an additional Behind-The-Curtain Story for you...
The picture above is the one I reference in the video at the top of the page, where I got to meet Broadway Actor Jason Opsahl at a taping of The Rosie O'Donnell Show when Cher was Rosie's featured guest.
At the start of the show, Rosie always had someone from the audience introduce her and that day's guests.
Getting to see Cher was exciting in itself, but then out of all the shows I have tickets to see a taping of The Rosie O'Donnell Show, that day's audience member who is none other than Kenickie himself from the 1994 revival of the Broadway musical Grease!
I remember going to see Grease on Broadway with my mom because Rosie was playing Rizzo in the show for a limited run.
I loved that version of Grease so much, not only because Rosie was in it, but because I got introduced to so many talented artists like Sam Harris, Susan Wood, Megan Mullally (of Will & Grace fame) & Jason Opsahl.
While I saw Grease on Broadway with my mom, my dad accompanied me to the taping of The Rosie O'Donnell Show.
Jason was so nice and I will NEVER forget going to see him in The Full Monty after meeting him at The Rosie O'Donnell Show .
Jason was just as kind when I waited for him at the stage door of Eugene O'Neill Theatre where The Full Monty was playing on Broadway.
A few weeks after seeing Jason on Broadway, I bumped into him while walking by The St. James Theatre on 44th Street. It was SO GREAT to see him. I couldn't believe he remembered my full name. He truly was one of the few actors I have met who remembered my whole name.
Jason was walking with his parents, who were visiting him from out of town. He was so sweet to introduce me to them.
I got to see Jason a total of 4 or 5 times in The Full Monty on Broadway.
Sadly, The Full Monty was Jason's last Broadway show. He died in 2002 from cardiac arrest after a battle with Anaplastic Astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer. He was 39.
I have never forgotten the kindness Jason showed towards me and I will cherish my memories with him forever!
Just like the lyrics of We Go Together from Grease:
We go together like
Ramma-lamma-lamma-ka-dingity-da-dinga-dong
Remembered forever as
Shoo-wop-sha-whada-whadda-yippidy boom-da-boom
Chang-chang, changity-chang-shoo-bop
That's the way it should be
Wah-ooh, yeah!
