Adam's Call: New York Pops 32nd Birthday Gala honoring Rob and Kathleen Marshall: To hear the New York Pops play the music from some of Rob and Kathleen's biggest successes was unreal! They gave new life to these amazing songs! If you ever get a chance to go to Carnegie Hall and attend a New York Pops concert, I say DO IT! It's an evening that you'll remember forever!
Adam's Call: Sutton Foster: New York Pops: One Night Only: A Night I Will Remember Forever. Sutton was on fire! Her voice filled Carnegie Hall well beyond the rafters! From the moment Sutton took the stage, she captivated the audience all the way through until the very end and that still was too short of a time to be at this concert.
"S'Wonderful," the title of George and Ira Gershwin's song, is how I would describe The New York Pops concert that took place at Carnegie Hall on Friday, March 16, 2012, featuring Patti Austin singing the Ella Fitzgerald's Gershwin Songbook with arrangements by the late Nelson Riddle and musical direction/conducting by Steven Reineke. The first reason this concert was such a treat was for the collaboration between Patti Austin, Steven Reineke, and The New York Pops. The blending of Patti's vocals, the New York Pops' playing, and Steven's musical direction was brilliant!
On Friday, December 16, 2011, I was treated to a truly delightful evening of holiday music at Carnegie Hall when I attended the NY Pops Holiday concert "John Pizzarelli and Jesicca Molaskey Wish You a Swingin' Christmas." This was my first time seeing the NY Pops and I was entranced, engulfed, and mesmerized by their talent!
