Call Answered: I have known about Klea Blackhurst for quite some time now, but it wasn't until I saw her last June in Stephen Cole and David Evans' "Merman's Apprentice" that I really got to see and hear what she can do. Klea is a powerhouse vocalist, similar to Ethel Merman, which is why it's so fitting that she stars in "Merman's Apprentice," which is coming back for a one-night only return engagement at Birdland on Monday, January 18 at 7pm!
Call Redialed: Time sure does fly by! It's been 5 years since I first interviewed comedian Justin Sayre and so much has happened to him! Call Redialed: I first met Jeremy Kushnier a few years ago when I got to interview the cast of Bucks County's production of "Rocky Horror." Prior to "Rocky Horror," I saw Jeremy go on in the most recent Broadway revival of "Jesus Christ Superstar." It was then that I was like, wow what a voice! I'm so excited to catch up with Jeremy as he is keeping audiences guessing as to whodunit in America's longest running comedy, "Shear Madness," which has descended on New York City, playing at New World Stages!
Call Answered: I was just introduced to rising singer/songwriter Alec Chambers this past November. Right away Alec's music of love and heartache resonated with me. At just 20 years old, Alec already has a knack for what it takes to write good songs and when you have the talented vocals to sing them, well that's just the icing on the cake! Alec is currently on tour in support of his debut EP, "Whole Again" and newest single "Do You See Me."
Call Answered: I love improv. I love comedy. I love talk shows. I love sketch comedy. When I was introduced to "This Live Show with Nate Foster," combining the best from late night talk shows with the joy of a tight, high-energy sketch show, I knew I had to find out more! With a host, co-host, audience participation, topical humor, character sketches and absurdist comedy, it truly is a mash-up of Jimmy Fallon and SNL. "This Live Show with Nate Foster" plays every month at The PIT's PIT Loft in NYC. The next installment is on Friday, December 18 at 9:30pm!
Call Answered: It's always exciting when somebody contacts me on social media about an interview. That's how I found out about playwright Paul Hufker. He came on my radar after Tweeting at me. Paul's latest play, "Snowed In: An Imaging" is a fictional take on what it would be like if former CIA employee/government contractor Edward Snowden were to be trapped in a Russian airport. "Snowed In" will have a reading at Dixon Place in NYC on Monday, December 21 at 7:30pm!
Call Answered: The first time I was introduced to the music of Aaron Weinstein was during one of Linda Lavin's concerts. To say I was blown away by Aaron's talent would be an understatement. It's an honor to interview this virtuoso about his appearance in "Piaf 100: A Centennial Celebration," celebrating the life and music of French songstress Edith Piaf alongside stars from Broadway, London’s West End, Jazz, Cabaret, and Rock ‘n’ Roll on December 19 (Edith's actual 100th birthday) at Town Hall in NYC!
Call Redialed: I have been a fan of Alec Mapa since 2001 when he appeared on CBS' "Some of My Best Friends." Since then, Alec has entertained me on "Ugly Betty," "Desperate Housewives," and now "Devious Maids" as well as his one man shows "I Remember Mapa" and "Baby Daddy" both at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Now, Alec is returning to The Laurie Beechman Theatre with his debut holiday show "A Holiday In Alec Mapa" on December 11 & 12! This rare night of stand-up comedy is not to be missed!
Call Answered: I have seen Billy Mitchell's "Villain: DeBlanks" at least half a dozen times. This hilarious show is part Madlibs, part whodunit, but always resulting in an evening of laughter and fun! With a rotating cast, the audience helps figure out who killed "Phillip DeBlanks," making EVERY show different! Now "Call Me Adam" gets inside the head of Billy Mitchell to learn how he created this thrilling show as well as the show's producer, Tony Nominee Brenda Braxton. "Villain: DeBlanks" plays the first Sunday of every month at The Triad in New York City, the next installment being Sunday, December 6 at 7:30pm!
Call Redialed: John Kevin Jones' one-man show of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," presented by Summoners Ensemble Theatre is returning for its third smash year! John Kevin and I talked about "A Christmas Carol" last year, but it was wonderful to catch up with him about this year's run! Call Redialed: It's great getting to catch up with Latin singer and Venezuelan theatre star Migguel Anggelo as we discuss his new show "Another Son of Venezuela," directed by OBIE award winner David Drake, which explores the very personal immigration themes of love, loss, family, and national pride as well as the challenges of claiming an authentic identity in the "land of the free." Migguel's immigration journey is quite fascinating. "Another Son of Venezuela" will play Joe's Pub on Tuesday, December 1 at 7pm!

Carol is starring in Three Day Hangover's re-imaged version of Moliere's "Tartuffe!" In this production, this play is set against a political backdrop which makes it outrageous, up-to-the-minute contemporary and hilarious. "Tartfuffe!" plays at McAlpin Hall at West Park Church in NYC thru November 21! Show time is 8pm!
Call Redialed: I was introduced to singer, songwriter, and actor Matt Zarley in 2012 with the release of his album "Change Begins With Me." I was taken by Matt's honesty and introspective look at love and personal growth with this album and that was enough to make me a fan. It was great to now catch up with Matt and talk about his new project "hopefulROMANTIC," a wonderfully innovative short film about love, relationships, and getting back on your feet! In addition to Matt, hopefulROMANTIC stars Chuck Saculla as "The Boyfriend," Jolie Jenkins as "The Best Friend," and social media/pop culture icon, Star Trek's George Takei as "The Mentor."
