My friend Randy Gener was brutally assaulted on January 17, 2014 in Midtown Manhattan around 4am after leaving a party. He was found near 7th Avenue and 54th Street. He is now in the neuro ICU, having suffered a massive head injury. There has been a site created to help with his medical expenses. If you are able to donate any amount, please follow this link: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/for-randy-gener/130589/

Randy Gener, Photo Credit: Rivka KatvanRandy is an amazing person, so kind, sweet, and thoughtful. He's an artist and writer who has worked at The New York Times, The Daily News, The Village Voice, Crain's, and National Public Radio as well as traveling the world for numerous speaking engagements on the arts and social media.

We had been friends on Facebook for sometime and finally met up two years ago at Broadway in Bryant Park. We had such a fun time together! While that was our only time hanging out in person, we have stayed in touch, following each others adventures on Facebook. Randy's smart, funny, and one of the most genuine people I know.
